Chapter 7: A Pakistani Scot with a Mid-Atlantic Drawl

Zohra who arrived from Pakistan in 1975.

When playing weddings in Karachi, Zohra imagined she would marry an Englishman. After joining her father in London, aged seven, the family moved to Glasgow. She met her English husband when studying at the Royal College of Art. After her studies she worked as South Asian Officer at the V&A. As an adult she sometimes imagines a different life in Pakistan, living in the countryside with a Pakistani husband and children.
